V. Ramachandra Naidu was a visionary landowner, philanthropist, and local ruler in Enangudi village, Nagapattinam district during the early 20th century.
Witnessing the hardships faced by villagers, especially pregnant women, the elderly, and the poor, he dedicated his life and wealth to social service, inspired by the teachings of Tamil saint Thiruvalluvar.
"To relieve the starving of their hunger is the noblest act, Like storing wealth for one's own future."
His son, Mirasudar R. Radhakrishnan Naidu, expanded the healthcare initiatives:
"தோன்றின் புகழொடு தோன்றுக அஃதிலார்
தோன்றலின் தோன்றாமை நன்று"
Translated the Bhagavad Gita from Sanskrit to Tamil and supported Annie Besant in translating it into English.
Built a Theosophical Society Lodge in Enangudi, stocking it with books on philosophy and nationalism.
Donated land to several temples including Thiruchenkattankudi Temple, Meenakshi Sundareswarar & Lalithambigai Temple, and Agnipureeswarar Temple.
His autobiography, published in 1932 by The Madras Law Journal Press, details his philanthropic works and was honored by the British government for contributions to education and public welfare.
"For the blessings I have enjoyed and the spiritual progress I was privileged to attain, I offer my humble thanks to the Divine Ruler of us all."
